Arshad Nadeem Olympics Winners Receives 10 Crore PKR 2024
Arshad Nadeem is currently the most celebrated athlete from Pakistan. He achieved a historic milestone at the Paris 2024 Olympics by securing the country’s first individual gold medal.
He set an Olympic record with a throw of 92.97 meters, surpassing India’s Neeraj Chopra, who won silver with a season-best throw of 89.45.
Originating from the rural area of Khanewal in Punjab, Nadeem faced significant challenges due to limited resources for training and international competition. Early in his career, he received financial support from his community and relatives to enable him to compete abroad.
Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Chief Minister
Nadeem is now receiving substantial rewards for his achievement. On Tuesday, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Chief Minister of Punjab, visited Nadeem in Mian Channu and presented him with a 10 crore Pakistani Rupees cash prize. In addition, he was given a Honda Civic with a unique registration number, PAK-92.97, commemorating his Olympic record.
While Pakistan is honoring its Olympic gold medallist, Arshad Nadeem, with cash awards and valuable gifts, his father-in-law has chosen a traditional present.
Muhammad Nawaz announced to local media on Sunday that he will gift Nadeem a buffalo, which reflects their community’s rural traditions and values. In their village, giving a buffalo is regarded as a highly meaningful and respected gift.
Neeraj Chopra
Arshad Nadeem achieved a historic win in the javelin throw at the Paris Olympics, setting a new record with a throw of 92.97 meters and securing first place ahead of India’s Neeraj Chopra.
Despite his success, Nadeem remains deeply connected to his roots. According to his father-in-law, Muhammad Nawaz, Nadeem continues to live with his parents and brothers in their village, demonstrating his commitment to his origins.
Nawaz mentioned that he has four sons and three daughters, and his youngest daughter, Ayesha, is married to Nadeem. The couple has two sons and one daughter. Nawaz noted that when he agreed to marry his daughter to Nadeem six years ago, Nadeem was not financially well-off but had a strong passion for sports. He used to train in local fields despite holding small jobs and running errands.
Nawaz expressed his pride in Nadeem’s achievements and noted that Nadeem remains respectful and humble. Nawaz noted, “He never complains during his visits to our home and eats whatever is served.
